Welcome to Wrexham Swimming Club2019-10-02T08:35:43+00:00

Wrexham Swimming Club (WSC) is based at Waterworld in the centre of Wrexham in North Wales. This Welsh swimming club has been established for over a hundred years. The club currently has approximately 180 squad members. Training sessions take place every evening from 4.30 p.m. and most mornings from 5.30 a.m. Development groups are based at both Clywedog and Rhosnesni Schools and train there every evening. WSC has, for the past 17 years, hosted four open galas each year. These take place in March, May, June and November at Waterworld.

We are a competitive, inclusive swimming club that caters for all types of ability from junior level, skill development and performance level at Welsh and UK national level.

In 2019 we were excited to be awarded Swim Wales Performance Club status. This srhows the commitment by Swim Wales, Coaches and Committee to provide the best possible environment for ALL our swimmers and to help everyone achieve their own personal bests.

    COACHES SUMMARY

This was another excellent year for Wrexham Swimming Club, we had more swimmers with more swims that achieved more finals and more PBs compared to 2017. We achieved the same number of medals and saw new swimmers achieve finals and medals which is a massive positive moving forward. On the whole the commitment and application on race day was excellent as lots of swimmers delievered on their pre-pool, warm-ups, race plans and recovery very professionally. We still need to gain more experience racing long course and we will tackle this in the coming cycles. There were also lessons learned for swimmers about competing at the highest levels which will provide valuable moving forward, plus some mistakes about managing the little details to promote positive performances that I am confident swimmers will improve as we move forward. Well done everyone.

    1) Can all swimmers please be reminded that they must bring proper trainers with them to all land training sessions to ensure they can take part fully. This is an injury prevention and health and safety matter. Swimmers who turn up in the incorrect footwear will not be able to take part.

    2) Amanda would like to photograph some of our younger swimmers (13-15yrs) using the Omnia Stations on Saturday morning. This is to help promote their Junior Gym initiative and photos maybe used on social media and internal marketing.

If there are any swimmer or parents who wish their photos not to be taken please could you let me know via return email.
